At the Russell Education Foundation, our mission is to inspire and equip underserved children and their families with the tools for continued success.
Our VISION is to close the achievement gap for every low-income student in South Florida through quality afterschool and summer learning services.
The Russell Education Foundation (REF) embraces several principal elements: learning is central to our mission, we provide links between parents, schools and Russell Reading Rooms, and we measure program quality outcomes appropriate to afterschool settings.
If you’d like to become a guest speaker and share your knowledge and experience with our students, contact us today!
Since 1998, the Russell Education Foundation has impacted the lives of over 20,000 low-income students and their families. Our students have bloomed into high school and college graduates, achieved meaningful employment and have become caring parents. REF is an essential afterschool service for working parents in low-income communities filling the school-age childcare gap between 3p.m. to 6p.m. Family leaders can remain consistently employed because they have quality school-age childcare that’s affordable.
Great things are happening at Russell Reading Rooms and there is still more work to do! We know the need is great and we will do all we can to rise to the occasion. Thanks, to all the amazing people who have helped us create a brighter future for underserved students. REF does not take your support lightly or for granted. We will continue to be good stewards of your generous contributions by working hard to change our future in low-income communities one student, and one family at a time.
